Every big team has a top class striker to score goals for them; Benzema for Madrid, Gomez for Bayern Munich, El Shaarawy for Milan and Van Persie for Manchester, nevertheless, Arsenal are the exception to the rule. However is it going to change? Arsenal has decided to bid for the Barcelona striker David Villa which would be a great signing for them, as well as for the player who is not playing for Barcelona due to internal conflict with the star player Lionel Messi.
Barcelona have made the best ever start of their history in la Liga with 49 points and scoring 57 goals so far, however, we haven’t heard much of David Villa which is very surprising for a team who has been scoring so many goals. In addition, David Villa only played 11 games and has only started 6 of them. David Villa would be the star striker in any team in the world but he is not at Barcelona.
Well, it seems that David Villa has personal problem with the little Argentinean genius, Lionel Messi. At Barcelona the team has been constructed around Messi and the team plays for him, which Alexi Sanchez understood, consequently, he is playing games. However, Villa is a striker and his natural instinct is to score goals and we’ve seen the two players having an argument against Granada in la Liga because he decided to take a shot on goal instead of passing the ball to Messi.
For the following reasons, Tito Vilanova took the decision to put Villa on the bench which is comprehensive as Messi will make you win games. Villa is not happy at Barcelona and I am sure he would love to play in the premier league where he could terrorise defences and score goals like he use to do.
In the recent years, Arsene Wenger has tried to buy strikers which could score goals and make him win title; however, the current strikers are all average. However, it could change very soon if Arsenal decide to invest in David Villa, who has scored goals in every team he has played for and on international stages as well. In my opinion with Arteta, Wilshere, Cazorla and Podolski beside him, Villa would be a goal machine at Arsenal where he would be the start striker and regain his statue of one of the best striker in the world.
